I just got these today and I put them on over my regular clothes and they fit nice. There is plenty of room if I want to wear thick clothes or thin clothes but not too much room that they’re bulky. I don’t know how Carhartt did it but the way they’re designed, they adapt to a person’s build for the most part and the clothes underneath. They’re very comfortable and warm. I was concerned that they were only the midweight insulation but I was pleasantly surprised when I put them on. They feel warmer than the arctic jacket I got to go with them which will help tremendously in the winter. There were two downfalls I saw with them though. . . They are just a tad too tall and the way they’re designed, tailoring them will be extremely hard. I’m 5’4″ so if you’re that height or shorter, they’ll probably drag a little bit. The other thing is the straps at the top don’t quite adjust far enough. They are pretty big around the chest and they don’t cinch up enough to size down to an average size chest. Even with both of those downfalls, they still fit comfortably and they’re easy to move around in.
