From the first point in the lush and beautiful prose, describing Joshua Sigel runs to the light in the hole, I knew it would be a painful yet uplifting book. The title is somewhat misleading, because the mystery of the disappearance of 14-year-old Dan Sandler plays a secondary role to their impact on the lives of his parents, Joshua and Nathalie. I knew what the resolution for the disappearance might be, but it is not there, and impeccable rhythm disappearance was extremely difficult to leave. The tension is relentless, driven by declines in the past that the axes began to fall frustratingly light on a mystery that is only in absolute darkness. No one saw the day when Dan disappeared. There is no physical evidence whatsoever. Over the past weeks and months, which hopes to slow down and Nathalie and Joshua crumble, both separately and as a family, the bright spots and clues reveal a bit shady connections. I did read that normally skip, but I wanted to do was to lock myself in my room and read this book at once. I stayed up late to see if Joshua and Nathalie bars, or at least a way forward.
The Sandler are newcomers to the summer cottage in a hollow, a village outside the small town of Smithfield, Massachusetts. When they return to their real lives in New York after the disappearance, is Joshua into the world of work, maintaining an exhausting schedule in the space research: Call the police head twice a day, spent the weekend questioning the neighbors. Nathalie Cello is intact as it sinks into depression. Their opposite reactions to the uncertainty and the pain pushed further and further apart. The struggle of the parents after a child's death or disappearance is a story that I have said a thousand times, but the representation of Sigel is fresh and realistic, and Nathalie and Josh is so clear that his anguish is almost unbearable. It is a credit to Sigel that even I did hope for a happy ending for the disappearance of Dan.
The town is beautifully drawn. The police chief, Sammons, is not the usual dumb hick town portrayed in the implementation of the law. He is thorough and decisive, and most importantly, cares deeply and never give up to find the answers to Sandler. Information about ordinary people who ran out realistic, in a non-intrusive. Together with Sigel gift for description, make this a picture of the rich nuances of depression and its inhabitants.
It disappeared, Efrem Sigel developed a large, beautiful novel of the tragedy, deeply human characters and a satisfactory solution. <a href = "http://hollybooknotes. blogspot. com "> shelf for my </ a>

I saw this book, see the "coming soon" list, and made a mental note to watch out for him, but when someone sent me, I Lept in it! He sounded a bit different than it usually is about genre and did not disappoint. The book is a bit slow, but not in a bad way. . . that will take you through penalty for this couple. It is a bit off, but even interesting. Do not mourn me or anything, but it grabbed my heart and squeezed for all it was worth. It is a difficult question, in that sense. I felt that I was with Dad in a set, desperate seeker, looking back on what I should have done, what he did wrong, what he did well, what would have done differently. It was almost. . . maniac? Is that word? Was. . . sorry.
The way the book is written is a subtle tale of love, loss, remorse, to let go and move on and look back. This very well written, reads you know what to make ends meet, but I expect and want something else. I do not want to spoil too much, but this is a book that experience rather than read.
Do not hesitate to recommend this book. It is a very good book and I'm glad I can read it. It is hard, but hits home with a reality that, yes, smells of the face. Nobody likes to think about this stuff, but the harsh reality is that it happens and this is a story about a couple dealt with it. The good – and not so good.
Get this. It's good.
