I have used Carhartt products for over forty years and, up until now, have purchased their products without hesitation. I purchased 2 pair of Men’s Series 1889 Straight Leg Relaxed Fit Jeans, Light Vintage; along with another style. They have cut down on the amount of belt loops, from 7 to 5, and shortened the zipper so much that it has diminished its functionality.
What good is a zipper that doesn’t open far enough to be useful! How much could 2 tiny strips of cloth and another inch or two of zipper cost? As for any additional labor involved; they’re already putting in a zipper so toss in another 30 seconds or so, and a couple of minutes for the belt loops. Let’s say they saved 5 minutes, just what is the per/minute labor rate in China these days?
